Nov 16 2008 The snappily-named Durable Medical Equipment Competitive Bidding Program has run into its predicted teething problems - some areas of the country are worse affected than others.
The changes - US Congress has enacted new legislation to delay the new competitive bidding program which began 1st July 2008.
You now can continue to get your Medicare-covered supplies and equipment from any approved Medicare supplier. If you have changed your supplier when this new program began, you can still use your new supplier, or you can choose to move to another supplier.
